Hi,
My wife and me spent 4 weeks in Laos last december, I hired a car with a driver and I want to share my experience, he was recommended by LP guide and it was not only a driver but also an excellent guide and even a fantastic cook.
We start with him in Vientiane and did all the trip up to the Cambodian border, 18 days, He speaks fluent french and good english, we did some homestays with him and specially in Tham Kong Lo the experience with the local people was fantastic, to me this is one of the most beautiful places in Laos and the most friendly people.
